Mr. Seth Jones

Hip Hop Instructor

Known affectionately to his students as “Mr. J” his is one of our most inspirational stories. Mr. J began his formal Dance Education at the age of 5 after the medical challenge of his life. At the age of 4 he underwent neurosurgery to remove sections of his brain in an attempt to ease the severity of Grand Mal seizures which paralyzed his life. After surgery his parents were informed that their son may never walk, talk or function “normally” in the future. Refusing to allow this to happen Seth began informal Dance lessons at home to enhance his rehabilitation and accompany his physical therapy. At the age of 5 he was enrolled in formal Dance training and has been on the Dance floor ever since that first day. Mr. J as a child, saw first-hand the healing and strengthening power of Dance and accredits Dance with saving his life. It became his mission to share the Art of Dance with others. For over 15 years Mr. J has trained at several studios in many genres of Dance including Acrobatics, African, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip-Hop Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Musical Theater & Tap. He was a featured Dancer and Assistant Choreographer for the Hammonton Youth Theater Group and is a current member of Intrinsic Styles Dance Company and Roger Lee Dance Company. In 2010 Mr. J auditioned for and was accepted to the Accelerated Dance Education Program at the prestigious University of the Arts in Philadelphia. There he has studied with such renowned teachers and choreographers such as Wayne St. David, Andrew Pap, Eva Szabo, Roni Koresh, Donald Rumsford, Zane Booker, Kurt Haworth, Kim Bears-Bailey and others.  As a member of the ADC Teaching Staff, Mr. J brings to the classroom a contagious sense of humor and fun, unique Dance skills and choreography, a warm devotion to his students and the valuable life lesson of never, NEVER saying the words “I can’t”. We welcomed Mr. J to the ADC Staff & Teachers Training Program in 2010!
